Senior Systems Engineer

Location: Chemnitz, Germany; travel to Munich is required when needed for technical alignment and integration activities

What you will do

• Take technical ownership of device-level systems and system integration for next-generation signal generators.
• Perform systems and requirements engineering with end-to-end traceability from requirements through architecture, implementation, verification, and testing.
• Coordinate device and component definitions across hardware, FPGA, software, and other engineering disciplines.
• Define technical specifications, acceptance criteria, pass/fail criteria, and system verification strategies.
• Develop system-level test cases, test plans, and simulation scenarios, supporting early verification and shift-left practices.
• Coordinate integration, verification, and validation of complex hardware/software systems and coach engineering teams on testability and requirements traceability.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Several years of systems engineering experience with complex electronic products, ideally in test and measurement, electronic instrumentation, or comparable high-tech systems.
• Strong experience in requirements engineering and management, including traceability, technical specifications, and measurable acceptance criteria.
• Hands-on experience with system integration, verification and validation, test strategies, test plans, and system-level test cases.
• Solid understanding of interdisciplinary electronic systems and hardware, FPGA, and software interfaces.
• Confident communication in German and English is required; willingness to travel to Munich is required when needed.

Nice to have

• Experience with laboratory measurements, automated testing, simulation, or AI-assisted engineering tools.
