Senior Software Engineer, Tokenization (Blockchain)

Location: Toronto, ON, Canada, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week

Base pay: CAD 166,000–195,000 per year, plus bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate backend services for minting, custody, and settlement of tokenized equities across leading blockchains.
• Own complex projects end to end, from architecture and implementation through rollout and operation in a 24/7 system.
• Connect traditional brokerage, ledger, and corporate-action infrastructure with on-chain systems, including smart contracts, chain indexers, and DEX trade flows.
• Partner with product, compliance, legal, and platform teams to translate regulatory constraints into system designs.
• Improve engineering quality through design reviews, code reviews, and hands-on mentorship.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering large-scale distributed systems in production.
• Backend development expertise with Go, Python, or Java.
• Experience with cloud-native architecture, including Kafka, Postgres, Kubernetes, or equivalent technologies.
• Strong understanding of correctness-critical systems, idempotency, reconciliation, and failure modes involving customer assets.
• Experience owning ambiguous cross-functional projects, influencing technical direction, and mentoring engineers.
• Working knowledge of blockchain fundamentals, including EVM, smart contracts, wallets, and on-chain settlement.
