Software Engineer, Tokenization (Blockchain)

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid work with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week

Base pay: CAD 136,000–160,000 per year, plus bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, build, test, and deploy backend services for minting, custody, and settlement of tokenized equities on the Robinhood Chain.
• Develop product-facing features and platform capabilities with strict correctness, auditability, and scalability requirements.
• Connect traditional brokerage, ledger, and corporate-action systems with on-chain infrastructure.
• Integrate smart contracts, chain indexers, and decentralized exchange trade flows.
• Improve system performance, engineering productivity, and risk reduction.
• Collaborate with product, compliance, client, and platform teams.

Requirements

• 2+ years of software development experience.
• Backend development expertise with Go, Python, or Java.
• Knowledge of cloud-native architectures, system design, data modeling, and software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience reasoning about idempotency, reconciliation, and failure modes in correctness-critical systems.
• Strong ownership and experience delivering projects end to end in cross-functional environments.
• Interest in blockchain fundamentals such as EVM, smart contracts, wallets, and on-chain settlement, or the ability to learn them quickly.
