Materials Manager (Aerospace/Defense)

Location: Onsite in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States; Monday–Thursday, 7:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with every other Friday off on a 9/80 schedule.

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 annually.

What you will do

• Lead material-handling functions across all value streams and supervise material handlers, shipping and receiving clerks, and other assigned personnel.
• Oversee production order issuance, material movement, inventory transactions, cycle counting, and material flow through the plant.
• Analyze ERP system data to ensure production orders are opened, cancelled, and closed accurately and on time.
• Partner with Supply Chain and Operations to optimize part settings, inventory levels, and customer delivery commitments.
• Investigate and resolve inventory inconsistencies while maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the materials database.
• Prioritize team work, resolve conflicts, provide feedback and training, and drive continuous improvement of workflows and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in materials management, supply chain, or operations.
• At least 2 years of leadership or supervision experience.
• Experience working with an ERP system.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and team-based skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Salt Lake City, Utah, with access to U.S. export-controlled information.

Nice to have

• Experience with physical inventory movement equipment, including forklifts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks.
• Experience implementing automated storage and picking solutions.
• Experience in an AS9100 aerospace or defense environment.
• Basic understanding of FAR and DFARS.
