Water & Wastewater Project Engineer

Location: San Diego, California; hybrid work between office and field environments

Projected compensation: $130–$160+

What you will do

• Plan, design, and deliver water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, reservoirs, and distribution and collection systems.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, design plans, and construction documents.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and deliverables.
• Analyze alternatives and develop practical, cost-effective solutions that meet regulatory and quality requirements.
• Support clients and construction activities through meetings, site visits, RFIs, shop drawing reviews, submittals, and field issue resolution.
• Mentor junior engineers and EITs while expanding project management responsibilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical, or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 4 years of water and wastewater engineering experience.
• California Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Ability to work in a hybrid office and field environment, including occasional exposure to weather, noise, hazardous conditions, and bodies of water.
• Ability to perform physical activities including standing, walking, kneeling, reaching, and occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 35 lbs.

Nice to have

• Basic proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
