Senior Engineer - Water Structures

Location: San Diego, California; hybrid work

Projected compensation: $160–$200+

What you will do

• Lead structural design and analysis for water and wastewater infrastructure, including treatment facilities, pump stations, reservoirs, tanks, and hydraulic structures.
• Serve as technical lead on multidisciplinary projects and ensure compliance with client requirements, codes, and industry standards.
• Prepare structural calculations, specifications, reports, and construction documents for rehabilitation and facility expansion projects.
• Perform condition assessments and structural evaluations of existing water infrastructure and recommend practical solutions.
• Provide construction-phase services, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, conducting site visits, and resolving field issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and support client relationships, proposals, presentations, and business development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 10+ years of relevant civil engineering experience.
• California SE license required.
• Project management experience with water resources and applicable structures projects.
• Experience managing public-sector projects for state, county, city, or federal clients.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage subconsultants and staff, communicate with clients, and deliver accurate, high-quality work.
