Junior ESG Specialist (m/w/d)

Location: Fernitz bei Graz, Austria; flexible hybrid work schedule

Salary: At least EUR 3,267 gross per month for full-time employment

What you will do

• Coordinate supplier communication and collect sustainability data, including energy consumption, renewable electricity, and Product Carbon Footprints.
• Validate supplier sustainability data with the global ESG and local R&D teams.
• Maintain supplier data in corporate Life Cycle Assessment software.
• Support supplier sustainability assessments, ESG ratings, corrective actions, due diligence, and documentation.
• Prepare sustainability reporting inputs, KPIs, and responses to customer sustainability requests.
• Improve sustainability processes, templates, reporting tools, and compliance support while collaborating with international teams.

Requirements

• Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, Lifecycle Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or a comparable field.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an interest in sustainability, product sustainability, and decarbonization.
• Technical and environmental data affinity, with very good Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Very good written and verbal communication skills in German and English.
• Structured, proactive, solution-oriented working style and the ability to collaborate across international teams.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Nice to have

• Internship, student-position, or junior experience in sustainability, environmental management, engineering, ESG, or consulting.
• Experience with sustainability reporting, data analysis, or project management.
• Knowledge of carbon-footprint calculation, GHG Protocol, ISO 14067, and energy data management.
• Power BI experience.
