Commissioning Technician (Industrial Refrigeration)

Location: Nationwide, United States; full-time field travel required on a 10-days-on, 4-days-off rotational schedule

hirify.global provides engineered industrial refrigeration and process cooling systems using natural refrigerants such as ammonia and CO₂, with in-house engineering, manufacturing, construction, commissioning, service, and aftermarket support.

What you will do

• Lead startup and commissioning for new and retrofitted industrial refrigeration systems ranging from 500 HP to 10,000 HP.
• Commission compressors, recirculators, refrigerant pumps, chillers, evaporators, condensers, freezers, freeze dryers, and related customer processes.
• Manage startup risks involving ammonia, CO₂, and Freon equipment while following safety policies and governing requirements.
• Lead engineers and technicians throughout the commissioning process and take responsibility for project success and customer satisfaction.
• Train customers on new plant operations and transfer systems to customer teams and the in-house aftermarket organization.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of industrial refrigeration experience.
• Field startup experience with CO₂ cascade, single- and multi-stage ammonia, and Freon systems.
• Universal EPA certification and RETA 1 and 2 certification.
• Experience commissioning complete industrial and commercial refrigeration systems and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control issues.
• Ability to travel full-time nationwide on a 10-days-on, 4-days-off rotational schedule.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug, felony, motor vehicle record, respirator fit, and physical-condition screenings.

Nice to have

• Commissioning school training from Frick/Johnson Controls, GE, Bitzer, or similar providers.
• HVAC/R or electrical schooling.
