Service Technician - Certified (Commercial Refrigeration)

What you will do

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of commercial refrigeration, heating, and air-conditioning systems.
• Service supermarket refrigeration systems, self-contained merchandisers, walk-in cases, racks, compressors, evaporators, condensers, motors, and related components.
• Detect and repair leaks, solder piping, install drains and supports, wash condensing units, and assist with equipment installation.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems, TEVs, airflow, motors, defrost systems, compressors, evacuation, recovery, and charging procedures.
• Complete work tickets, timesheets, customer paperwork, invoicing, and electronic service records using a handheld computer.
• Manage truck inventory, follow vehicle maintenance procedures, and maintain professional customer relationships.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; HVAC-R technical school education is preferred.
• At least five years of field experience, or three years of experience with technical school certification.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification and a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record are required.
• Knowledge of commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems, electrical schematics, refrigeration components, motors, refrigerants, vacuums, and system charging.
• Ability to work nights and/or weekends, climb ladders, work at heights, crouch, walk long distances, and repeatedly lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, hand-tool skills, communication, decision-making, documentation, and customer-service abilities.
