Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration

Location: Onsite at 2100 N Main St, Bluffton, Indiana, United States

Salary: $29.00–$58.00 per hour, with possible premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Install, configure, calibrate, maintain, and repair commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in racks, walk-ins, reach-ins, ductwork, and control panels.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to reduce downtime and optimize equipment performance.
• Maintain compliance with building codes, OSHA standards, EPA refrigerant-handling requirements, and federal, state, and local regulations.
• Lead and mentor field technicians while supporting technical training and safe work practices.
• Manage service calls, coordinate vendors, document completed work, and operate company vehicles safely.

Requirements

• Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification plus 2 years of relevant experience, or 4 years of experience in commercial HVAC/R, building controls, mechanical maintenance, or a related field.
• Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• HVAC/R or mechanical journeyman qualification where required.
• Ability to read layout plans, schematics, wiring diagrams, and building codes and to use testing equipment and tools.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and a driving record meeting the stated safety requirements, including no recent DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions.
• Ability to communicate technical issues and service outcomes to customers and mentor less-experienced technicians.

Nice to have

• Completion of a two-year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city or state where the job is located.
• Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, email, presentation software, blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
