Quality Inspector - Welding

Industrial refrigeration and process cooling provider delivering custom-engineered systems using ammonia and CO₂, with in-house engineering, manufacturing, construction, commissioning, service, and aftermarket support.

What you will do

• Inspect welded components and assemblies against engineering drawings, work instructions, welding procedures, and quality standards.
• Perform dimensional checks, visual inspections, and applicable non-destructive testing.
• Identify weld defects such as cracks, porosity, undercutting, and incomplete fusion.
• Use calipers, micrometers, weld gauges, and other inspection tools to validate tolerances.
• Document findings, deviations, corrective actions, and traceable quality records.
• Collaborate with welders and production teams on corrections, root cause analysis, and process improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; welding or quality-control certifications are preferred.
• At least 3 years of quality inspection or welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of welding symbols and ANSI, AWS, and ISO standards.
• Familiarity with GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and SMAW welding processes.
• Proficiency with measurement and inspection tools, documentation, communication, and basic computer reporting.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds occasionally, remain on foot for most of the shift, and work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying environmental conditions.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or equivalent quality management systems.
• Previous welding experience, especially pipe welding.
