Quality Inspector I (Manufacturing)

Location: Dodge Center, Minnesota, United States; onsite, 1st shift

Salary: $20–$26.52 per hour

What you will do

• Inspect parts and assemblies throughout the manufacturing process against engineering and quality specifications.
• Interpret assembly, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic prints and schematics, using calipers, gauges, measuring tapes, and other inspection tools.
• Evaluate paint quality, surface finish, coating thickness, and weld compliance using appropriate inspection equipment.
• Verify functional testing, process adherence, product stability during startup, and documentation of results.
• Report nonconformances, gather quality data, and perform basic root cause analysis of defects.
• Check production-tool calibration and communicate quality updates and changes with supervisors and production teams.

Requirements

• At least six months of applicable experience or an evaluated equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical procedures, safety rules, and operating instructions.
• Ability to use basic measuring and inspection tools.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and reports.
• Ability to work routine shift hours with occasional overtime, weekend work, or shift rotation.
• Ability to perform physical work including frequent standing, walking, reaching, and occasional lifting or pushing up to 25 pounds.

Nice to have

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience using measuring tapes and check gauges.
