TL;DR
Non-Destructive Testing Tool Inspector, Level 1 (Aerospace): Performing fluorescent penetrant inspection of aerospace hardware with an accent on process control, equipment checks, traceability, and accurate documentation. Focus on preparing and examining components, identifying inspection indications, maintaining NAS 410 qualification requirements, and supporting compliant manufacturing operations.

Location: Blue Ash, Ohio, at the Cincinnati facility; onsite manufacturing and inspection work. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

What you will do

  • Perform fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI/PT) on aerospace hardware according to approved work instructions, drawings, procedures, and customer or industry requirements.
  • Prepare parts and complete pre-cleaning, penetrant application, dwell, removal, developer application, inspection, and post-cleaning steps.
  • Standardize equipment, perform system performance checks, and escalate out-of-tolerance conditions.
  • Examine components and accurately identify and document relevant, nonrelevant, and false indications.
  • Maintain inspection records, process documentation, traceability, equipment, materials, work areas, and consumables.
  • Support audits and follow chemical handling, PPE, UV-A exposure, EHS, quality, and FOD controls.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must meet or be capable of meeting NAS 410 Revision 6 and hirify.global' written-practice requirements for PT Level I, including formal training, examination, and vision requirements.
  • NAS 410 Revision 6 specifies at least 16 hours of formal PT training and 130 hours of applicable experience; prior documented training and experience may be accepted under the approved written practice.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions, maintain accurate inspection traceability, and escalate abnormal or unclear conditions.
  • Ability to meet near-vision and color-perception requirements and maintain qualification status.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance are required.

Nice to have

  • Current or previous NAS 410 or EN 4179 PT/FPI Level I certification.
  • Experience inspecting aerospace castings, forgings, weldments, machined components, or additively manufactured hardware.
  • Experience in AS9100 or Nadcap-controlled special-process environments.
  • Technical or trade-school coursework in nondestructive testing, inspection, manufacturing, or a related discipline.
