(USA) Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration

Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana, United States; onsite facility-based role

What you will do

• Maintain and repair commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment and facility assets.
• Use hand tools, power tools, digital tools, and other equipment to complete repair work.
• Receive work orders, support stores and associates, and document repair activities in the work order management system.
• Respond to emergency maintenance calls and diagnose issues by inspecting, operating, and testing equipment.
• Complete required safety training and follow OSHA, EPA, and Walmart refrigeration HVAC guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, use ladders, and work frequently at heights.

Requirements

• At least two years of commercial HVAC/R maintenance experience with large-scale rack refrigeration, or four years of relevant mechanical maintenance or construction experience.
• Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling is required.
• Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and, where required, an HVAC-R or mechanical journeyman qualification.
• Valid state-issued driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a motor vehicle report are required.
• At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work safely with tools, lift up to 75 pounds, climb ladders, and work at heights.

Nice to have

• Completion of a two-year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license for the city or state where the job is located.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and office software.
