Construction Project Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: On-site in El Segundo, California, United States. The role requires lawful U.S. work authorization and eligibility as a U.S. person under ITAR requirements.

Salary: $101,000–$155,000 per year.

A space infrastructure startup developing in-orbit pharmaceutical processing, reentry capsules, heat shields, and satellite buses through in-house design, manufacturing, integration, and testing.

What you will do

• Oversee multidisciplinary construction projects from scope development and design through buildout, bring-up, and closeout.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, resources, contracts, and procurement plans with internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate architects, engineers, vendors, consultants, contractors, municipal agencies, and regulatory authorities.
• Lead design reviews, permitting, inspections, site visits, field issue resolution, and construction quality coordination.
• Track milestones, costs, invoices, change orders, risks, documentation, and project reporting for leadership.
• Coordinate with facilities and end users to support operational handoff, building maintenance, and space planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in architecture, engineering, or construction management.
• Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, architectural, and structural engineering principles.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
• Ability to communicate technical and non-technical information clearly to different stakeholders.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and qualify as a U.S. person for access to export-controlled technology.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in construction or engineering management.
• PMP, PSP, or equivalent certification.
• Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, or Smartsheet.
• Experience with aerospace, manufacturing, cleanroom, pharmaceutical, or biotech laboratory infrastructure projects.
