Consultant, Process Management (Compensation Administration)

Location: Remote within the lower 48 U.S. states

Salary: $87,000–$162,000 per year nationally; expected starting range: $87,000–$131,000 per year

What you will do

• Own and co-own complex Standard Variable and Base Compensation plans, including commissions, profit share, OCP, and EGP programs.
• Transition NWAG Profit Share administration from Finance, document requirements and controls, and establish sustainable backup coverage.
• Perform complex calculations, data preparation, reconciliation, validation, and quality reviews using advanced Excel and related tools.
• Investigate discrepancies and unusual trends, identify root causes, and recommend corrective action before payments are finalized.
• Participate in UAT, requirements clarification, defect investigation, technology changes, and issue resolution.
• Improve process resilience through documentation, standardization, knowledge transfer, automation, cross-training, and peak-period capacity planning.

Requirements

• Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, data validation, reconciliation techniques, and analytical tools; an Excel proficiency assessment is part of the hiring process.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to administer complex compensation rules across multiple lines of business and processing cycles.
• Ability to work with SAP-based workflows, data dependencies, UAT, requirements discussions, defects, and technology changes.
• Ability to perform high-accuracy, judgment-heavy work under recurring and peak-season deadlines and collaborate across Finance, Technology/IT, Business Insights, Compensation Design, and business teams.
• Data Analytics certification is required for new team members; typically eight or more years of experience in business process design or operations is expected.

Nice to have

• Experience in compensation, incentive administration, commissions, financial operations, payroll, or another high-accuracy operational environment.
• Experience with variable compensation, profit share, complex financial calculations, SAP, SQL, macros, Power BI, or Power Automate.
• Experience with technology implementations, process improvement, work transitions, or stabilizing newly assumed processes.
• An undergraduate degree in business, mathematics, or a related field; process certifications or insurance coursework such as CPCU, CPU, or LOMA.
