TL;DR
Financial Accountant / Senior Financial Accountant (IFRS, SAP): Supporting financial accounting, statutory reporting, financial controls, and month-end and year-end close activities for BBC Studios' multi-entity Asia operations with an accent on reconciliations, tax compliance, audit support, and reporting accuracy. Focus on coordinating outsourced finance providers, strengthening ICFR processes, and developing standardized, automated reporting with approved AI technologies.

What you will do
- Support monthly and year-end financial close, APAC consolidation inputs, variance analysis, and statutory financial statements across Asia entities.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, investigate reconciling items, and maintain account substantiation and financial controls.
- Coordinate outsourced Record-to-Report providers and support accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, debt collection, tax, and audit activities.
- Collaborate with regional and global finance teams, business stakeholders, external auditors, advisers, and regulators.
- Perform assigned Internal Controls over Financial Reporting activities and document accounting treatments and technical matters.
- Support reporting transformation through standardized templates, automation, self-service reporting, dashboards, and approved AI technologies.
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification required; CPA or CA preferred.
- At least 4–5 years of relevant financial accounting experience, including journals, reconciliations, management reporting, statutory reporting, and audit support.
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, financial controls, IFRS, taxation, and regulatory requirements across Asian markets.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with reporting, reconciliation, workflow, and large ERP platforms; SAP experience is preferred.
- Experience working in complex, matrixed, international, multi-entity, or cross-border environments, with the ability to manage different time zones.
