Director of Product Design (AI)

Location: Hybrid, with at least 3 days per week in an office hub in San Francisco or Toronto

Salary: San Francisco $202,162–$237,838 plus equity; Toronto CA$168,555–CA$198,330 plus equity.

What you will do

• Lead and support a team of 4+ product designers, including mentoring, performance management, and career development.
• Drive hiring and help scale the product design practice.
• Partner with product, engineering, data, and AI teams to define strategy, scope opportunities, and ship high-quality solutions.
• Lead hands-on design for strategic, high-impact projects across AI tools and workflow infrastructure.
• Build foundational design systems and foster a collaborative, feedback-rich design culture.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software product design.
• 5+ years of experience managing designers.
• Experience designing impactful B2B workflow tools for complex, specialized users.
• Proven ability to hire, develop, and scale a design team.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to create clarity in ambiguous problem spaces and ship high-quality work quickly.
