Head of Product Design

Salary: $306,000–$360,000 annually for California and New York-based roles, plus a long-term incentive package.

What you will do

• Set and champion the strategic product design vision across World’s product ecosystem.
• Contribute directly to high-priority product design projects as the most senior designer.
• Recruit, develop, mentor, and provide career support for a high-performing design team.
• Partner with product and engineering teams on strategic planning and cohesive user experiences.
• Maintain high standards for visual and interaction design, brand consistency, accessibility, and usability.
• Advocate for users through research, data, empathy, and inclusive design practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of product design experience, including at least 5 years managing design teams.
• Portfolio demonstrating design excellence, systems thinking, and user-centered problem solving across web and mobile consumer products.
• Experience scaling and leading design teams in a technology-driven product environment.
• Expertise in end-to-end product design from research through implementation.
• Strong understanding of design systems, accessibility standards, responsive design, and current UI/UX practices.
• Strong business acumen, communication, organization, and stakeholder leadership skills, with resilience in ambiguous environments.
