Design Program Manager (AI)

Location: Oakland, California, United States; hybrid schedule with in-office work on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday and work-from-home options on Tuesday and Friday

Salary: $140,000–$178,000 annually, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Own the design operating model for planning, estimation, sequencing, delivery, and handoffs.
• Define design readiness criteria and coordinate pre-launch quality reviews covering craft, responsiveness, accessibility, and edge cases.
• Establish working interfaces and dependency-management practices across Design, Product Management, Engineering, User Research, and Technical Writing.
• Build lightweight design operations rhythms, frameworks, design briefs, critique structures, and workflow templates.
• Track design resourcing, bandwidth, capacity, throughput, and readiness to support staffing and leadership planning.
• Translate design progress, capacity, and complex trade-offs into clear business-relevant reporting.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in Design Program Management or Design Operations supporting product design teams.
• Experience in complex enterprise B2B SaaS or data-heavy environments.
• Ability to balance competing priorities, create structure amid ambiguity, and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
• Experience building design operations frameworks, delivery plans, and resource-tracking processes.
• Strong communication, storytelling, user-centered design, and modern UX workflow skills, including experience with Figma.
• Authorization to work in the United States without restrictions is required; hirify.global is not sponsoring F-1 visas, including OPT, for this role.

Nice to have

• Experience with Jira or emerging AI tools such as Cursor or Claude Design.
• Experience supporting enterprise product design teams in complex legal or data-intensive domains.
