Equipment Service Technician (Outdoor Power Equipment)

Location: Horizon Boise, ID - H450, 12423 W. Monsanto St., Boise, Idaho 83713. Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Pay: Competitive pay plus up to $2,500 through performance bonuses.

What you will do

• Diagnose fractional-horsepower gasoline engines used in lawn mowers, garden tractors, and similar equipment.
• Dismantle, inspect, clean, adjust, replace, and repair parts as authorized by customers.
• Assemble and repair outdoor power equipment while maintaining customer equipment and company tools.
• Coordinate daily with Parts Customer Service Representatives and Sales Center Managers on diagnoses, recommendations, and repair status.
• Follow OSHA safety and security procedures and complete repairs within required deadlines.

Requirements

• Completion of a mechanic technical or trade school, or at least one year of mechanic experience or training, or an equivalent combination.
• Basic tools for general engine or power-equipment repair.
• Ability to troubleshoot persistently, think critically, multitask, and work overtime when necessary.
• Ability to learn computer systems, handheld technology, and evolving service processes.
• Physical dexterity, coordination, and steadiness; applicants must be at least 18 years old.
• Willingness to obtain outdoor power equipment certifications and complete manufacturers’ annual updates.

Nice to have

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience with two-cycle, four-cycle, and light-diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic units.
• Equipment and Engine Training Certifications.
• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
