Maintenance Shop Technician B

What you will do

• Repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel trucks and equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, engines, suspension, drivetrain, steering, HVAC, and braking systems.
• Diagnose multi-system malfunctions using electronic tools.
• Maintain hydraulic, electrical, air brake, and vehicle control systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance, basic tire work, welding, and fabrication.
• Provide road service when necessary to return equipment to safe and efficient operation.
• Complete company training and support fleet drivers and operations.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of technician experience with gasoline- and diesel-powered equipment, or graduation from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next three months.
• Experience or knowledge maintaining Class 1–5 light/medium-duty and Class 7–8 heavy-duty trucks, aircraft, or ships.
• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and perform basic inspections with limited supervision.
• Working knowledge of engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, hydraulics, drivetrains, suspension, steering, and diesel emissions.
• Valid driver's license required.
• ASE T1–T8 certifications and a commercial driver's license are advantageous but not required.
