Field Service Apprentice - Ohio

Location: Crown Point, IN; remote work on a 4/10 schedule, supporting Michigan and the Midwest, with required travel to customer sites

What you will do

• Progress through the Technician Tier system while developing hands-on expertise with INNIO gas engines, TPI RNG Solutions, and MAN gas engines.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues, provide remote technical support, and minimize customer downtime.
• Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, parts replacement, and equipment data collection.
• Travel to customer sites to support equipment repair and service activities.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to improve equipment performance and processes.
• Follow safety protocols and regulatory requirements in all service activities.

Requirements

• Understanding of basic engine fundamentals, electrical systems, and electromechanical systems.
• Gas engine mechanical or electrical knowledge and experience, or training in gas/diesel engine-powered generators or equivalent technical education.
• Proficiency with computer systems and software for data analysis, reporting, and remote troubleshooting.
• Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while adapting to changing priorities.
• Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
