AI Deployment Lead (AI)

Location: San Francisco Bay Area, United States. Remote work is available, but candidates based in San Francisco are expected to work in the office 3 days per week. The role includes 30–50% travel and work inside government buildings.

What you will do

• Lead 2–4 complex government AI deployments from discovery and pre-sale planning through production adoption, renewal, and expansion.
• Translate agency workflows and desired outcomes into MVPs, technical requirements, delivery roadmaps, success metrics, and learning agendas.
• Coordinate Product, Engineering, Sales, and client stakeholders across multi-workstream delivery, milestones, dependencies, risks, and executive decisions.
• Drive adoption and change management through stakeholder onboarding, training, operating-model changes, and sustained post-launch usage.
• Convert deployment evidence and customer feedback into reusable product capabilities, evaluations, playbooks, templates, and roadmap decisions.
• Hire, develop, and manage deployment leads while establishing repeatable operating standards as the portfolio grows.

Requirements

• 7+ years leading complex, senior-stakeholder client programs, enterprise deployments, AI/ML deployments, complex implementations, or comparable program leadership.
• Experience taking an AI/ML, data, or other complex technical product from ambiguous problem framing through production use and adoption.
• Technical fluency in AI/ML and enterprise systems, including workflows, data, integrations, evaluations, model behavior, security, and production constraints.
• Strong structured problem-solving, hypothesis-driven planning, executive communication, risk management, and decision-making skills.
• Experience building trusted relationships with executives, elected officials, agency heads, and public-sector stakeholders.
• Comfort with 30–50% travel and working inside government buildings.

• Public-sector, govtech, or civic-tech delivery experience.
• Familiarity with government procurement, security reviews, and contracting norms.
• Experience deploying AI/ML products.
