Lead AI Engineer (AI)

Location: Portland, Oregon, US; hybrid schedule with 4 days per week in-office and 1 day remote. Applicants must be able to work in or relocate to Portland. Relocation assistance is not available.

Salary: $117,000–$150,000 USD starting range, depending on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end design, development, deployment, operation, and adoption of AI-enabled applications for Procurement and Supply Chain.
• Build solutions using LLMs, AI agents, machine learning, workflow automation, and Palantir Foundry.
• Define ontology, object models, schemas, data architectures, pipelines, APIs, integrations, and platform connectivity.
• Monitor deployed applications, resolve incidents, improve reliability and performance, and coordinate with IT service management teams.
• Identify automation and continuous-improvement opportunities using Lean principles, predictive analytics, and intelligent workflows.
• Lead cross-functional delivery, mentor engineers and business users, support governance decisions, and drive training and adoption.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, mathematics, engineering, physics, supply chain, or a related field, plus 5 or more years of relevant experience.
• At least 1 year of group leadership, project leadership, or mentoring experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in AI engineering, data engineering, software development, supply chain management, procurement, logistics, or advanced analytics.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript, or SQL, with experience deploying AI, machine learning, or LLM-based solutions.
• Knowledge of prompt engineering, RAG, AI agents, model evaluation, machine learning fundamentals, data pipelines, API development, cloud, and platform architectures.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work permanently in the US at the time of application unless they are current hirify.global employees working under an existing US visa.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree.
• Experience with Palantir Foundry or similar enterprise data and AI platforms.
• Knowledge of supply chain, material planning, logistics, or procurement.
