Additive Manufacturing Technician (Metal LPBF)

Location: Centennial, Colorado, United States; hands-on shop floor work

Base rate: $32–$43 per hour, with additional rewards potentially including long-term incentives, equity, and flexible PTO.

What you will do

• Operate metal laser powder bed fusion machines through powder loading, build setup, monitoring, machine flips, and depowdering.
• Manage powder processing, sieving, recovery, reuse tracking, lot management, PPE, environmental controls, and inventory traceability.
• Perform post-processing including wire EDM plate removal, support removal, heat treatment, hand finishing, and tumbling.
• Measure and verify parts with calipers, micrometers, optical microscopes, and engineering drawings.
• Perform cleaning, preventive maintenance, first-line troubleshooting, and vendor coordination while documenting build anomalies for engineering.
• Help establish the lab layout, tooling, workflows, work instructions, and wax, ceramic, polymer printing, and investment casting processes.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience operating metal laser powder bed fusion equipment such as EOS, Nikon SLM, Aconity3D, Renishaw, Velo3D, or 3D Systems.
• Direct experience with metal powder handling, sieving, depowdering, PPE, cleanliness, and environmental controls.
• Mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance experience with industrial equipment.
• Experience with build plate removal, support removal, hand finishing, or heat treatment.
• Working proficiency with metrology tools and engineering drawings, plus clear technical documentation and communication.
• Must satisfy U.S. ITAR/EAR eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required U.S. authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience with nickel superalloys, wire EDM, CNC machining, HIP, electropolishing, non-metal additive manufacturing, or investment casting.
• Exposure to CAD/CAM or build-preparation tools such as Magics, 3DXpert, SolidWorks, or Fusion 360.
• Experience establishing a new laboratory or production area.
• Background in aerospace, medical, or other regulated manufacturing environments such as AS9100 or ISO.
