Senior Engineering Manager, Customer Runtimes (Cloud Infrastructure)

Location: Remote in Canada or the United States. An in-office workspace is available in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Salary: 170,400–213,000 CAD per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a sizable global team of software engineers responsible for customer runtime infrastructure.
• Manage multiple critical projects, shifting priorities, delivery quality, and operational or on-call impact.
• Set technical strategy and guide cloud and infrastructure modernization across a large infrastructure footprint.
• Lead architecture discussions, review critical code, and maintain a high bar for technical excellence.
• Align team and organizational goals with cross-functional stakeholders and translate strategy into actionable work.
• Provide direction, coaching, feedback, and support through organizational changes and complex engineering challenges.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software development experience, including a strong foundation as a Staff or Principal Engineer.
• 3+ years of direct people management experience with large global teams, Staff engineers, and multiple subteams.
• Experience delivering multiple projects, working with customers and external communities, and leading cloud infrastructure modernization.
• Experience designing cloud-based platforms at broad scale, including distributed systems and scalable cloud architectures.
• Production experience operating and automating large Linux fleets with Terraform, dynamic provisioning, and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, GKE, ECS, or EKS.
• Working knowledge of Python, Golang, or another modern programming language, plus strong computer science fundamentals and Agile or Scrum practices.

Nice to have

• Fluency with AI coding assistants and a clear perspective on how they affect engineering team workflows.
• Experience with Cloud Run, Lambda, MySQL, MariaDB, Cloud SQL, Redis, or Memcached.
