Senior Engineering Manager, Customer Runtimes (Cloud Infrastructure)

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a sizable engineering team responsible for customer runtime infrastructure.
• Manage multiple critical projects, adapting priorities while controlling operational and on-call burden.
• Set technical strategy, lead architecture discussions, review critical code, and maintain engineering quality.
• Align team goals with organizational priorities and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Translate strategic objectives into actionable work, provide feedback, and allocate team resources.
• Drive modernization of large-scale infrastructure supporting Drupal, WordPress, and Next.js customer sites.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software development experience, including a strong foundation as a Staff or Principal Engineer.
• 3+ years of direct people management experience with large global teams, Staff engineers, and multiple subteams.
• Experience delivering simultaneous projects, working with customers and external communities, and leading cloud infrastructure modernization.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems, scalable cloud architectures, Kubernetes, GCP or AWS orchestration, serverless application services, relational databases, and caching.
• Production experience operating and automating large Linux-based fleets with Terraform and dynamic provisioning systems.
• Working knowledge of Python, Golang, or another modern programming language, plus experience with Agile, Scrum, or similar methodologies.

• Fluency with AI coding assistants and a clear perspective on how they affect engineering team workflows.
• Deep computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
