Summer Associate Internship (Product Strategist - Student Loans)

Location: Hybrid in Vienna, Virginia, United States; Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM ET. The internship runs for 12 weeks from May 2027 through August 2027.

Salary: $31.25-$46.88 per hour

What you will do

• Research competitor offerings, industry trends, and regulatory developments in education lending.
• Develop a business case and strategic recommendation for new student loan offerings for trade schools, certificate programs, or parent borrowers.
• Assess market opportunity, financial impact, competitive positioning, and implementation considerations.
• Translate research and analysis into actionable recommendations, financial assessments, and executive-ready presentations.
• Present data-driven insights to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Manage strategic projects by defining scope, timelines, dependencies, risks, and success measures.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a graduate degree at an accredited college or university, with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
• Experience creating presentations, business cases, reports, or recommendations for leadership audiences.
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills.
• Ability to interpret data, identify business opportunities, manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate across teams.
• Curiosity about industry trends, competitive dynamics, member needs, and product strategy.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of product development, consumer lending, financial services, or digital products.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and business intelligence or reporting tools.
