Construction Manager, Expert (Civil Construction)

Location: Concord, California; hybrid work from a remote office and an assigned location within the PG&E Service Territory based on business need

Salary: $126,000–$200,000 for the Bay Area or $120,000–$190,000 for California, depending on locality and qualifications.

What you will do

• Identify contract-worthy paving and concrete projects and assess project feasibility, site details, scope, and constructability.
• Prepare job packages, construction estimates, internal drawings, RFP materials, and contract documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers, construction supervisors, contractors, engineering, contracts, and other internal teams to maintain project workflow, budget, and schedule.
• Lead job walks and scope discussions, review Issued For Construction drawings, clarify technical details, and support change orders.
• Monitor daily construction activities and ensure compliance with safety, quality, cost, schedule, environmental, land-permit, and regulatory requirements.
• Represent PG&E in the field, manage contractor communications and resources, and mentor associate, career, and senior employees.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in civil engineering or civil construction; 9 years is desired.
• Experience managing government-agency paving and concrete projects.
• Knowledge of unit price contracts and demonstrated ability in cost accounting, inspection, and contract administration.
• Ability to perform cost and project scheduling.
• Working knowledge of Primavera P6, Unifier, Primavera Contracts Manager, Prolog, Microsoft Office, or similar tools.
