Construction Manager (Rail Infrastructure)

Location: San Francisco Bay Area, California; full-time on-site position

Salary: $160,000–$200,000 per year ($77–$96 per hour)

What you will do

• Own the constructability strategy and identify construction challenges and resolutions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead construction input into design activities, milestones, sequencing, and pre-construction planning.
• Oversee construction across multiple contracts and delivery methods, including early works, heavy civil construction, systems installation, and facility fit-out.
• Coordinate construction management services and verification protocols to ensure built work meets contractual requirements.
• Lead and develop construction management staff while allocating resources as the program scales.
• Coordinate with engineering, project controls, procurement, right-of-way, safety, quality, and oversight stakeholders on schedule, budget, risk, changes, claims, and disputes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• 10+ years of experience managing large, complex heavy-civil rail infrastructure projects valued above $500 million.
• Experience leading construction management for transit, rail, or comparable heavy-civil programs, including tunneling, track and systems, and station or facility construction.
• Experience with alternative delivery models and multiple concurrent contracts across design, procurement, and construction.
• Strong knowledge of constructability, construction risk mitigation, verification protocols, and pre-construction design coordination.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary construction management staff and using project or construction management software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, Unifier, or Kahua.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree, Professional Engineer license, Certified Construction Manager certification, PMP, or AIA registration.
• Experience with federally funded transportation projects and FTA Project Management Oversight requirements.
• Experience delivering construction in dense urban environments with active rail, utility, and public right-of-way constraints.
• Experience with tunneling, deep excavation, underground rail construction, utility relocation, site clearing, or demolition.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Oracle Cloud Analytics, or other KPI dashboard software.
