Sr Data Analyst – Healthcare Economics

Location: Des Moines, Iowa, USA; hybrid schedule with at least three days per week in the Des Moines office, Tuesday through Thursday, and remote work on Monday and Friday

What you will do

• Lead, design, implement, and maintain provider reimbursement strategies and financial reporting.
• Analyze provider claims, utilization, pricing, and reimbursement data to develop payment recommendations.
• Advise Network Economics, Health Network, Network Engagement, and other business stakeholders on payment strategies and policies.
• Configure, transfer, and monitor data in provider payment systems and support testing, implementations, and system enhancements.
• Manage relationships and service-level agreements with provider payment vendors.
• Serve as a subject matter expert, mentor team members, and present strategic recommendations to leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, economics, or a related field, or equivalent applicable experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in health insurance, healthcare, or a related financial industry, including financial analysis and data modeling.
• Advanced knowledge of provider reimbursement, contracting, claims processing, medical policies, managed care, and healthcare delivery systems.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and technical experience with Power BI, Tableau, SAS Enterprise Guide, and/or SQL.
• Experience interpreting claims data, provider utilization, and trends to determine payment strategies and evaluate results.
• Applicants must already have the required US work authorization; immigration sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Hospital or healthcare facility reimbursement experience.
• Experience with HROR.
• Current residence in the Des Moines metropolitan area.
