Senior EHSS Specialist

Location: Onsite at the manufacturing facility in Meridian, Idaho, United States

Salary: $90,000–$120,000 USD annually, plus participation in an annual bonus or role-based sales incentive plan.

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and enforce environmental, health, safety, and security policies in compliance with EPA, OSHA, local, state, and federal requirements.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, injuries, complaints, and workplace hazards while driving corrective actions and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate environmental programs, audits, inspections, and compliance activities, including air, stormwater, wastewater, sound, indoor air quality, and personal exposure testing.
• Provide technical leadership on chemical and noise exposure, machine guarding, confined spaces, ergonomics, lockout/tagout, material handling, powered industrial trucks, and hazardous materials transportation.
• Oversee combustible dust safety engineering controls, including detection and suppression systems.
• Develop safety education, training, behavior-based safety, employee involvement, reporting, and documentation programs.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of direct safety responsibility, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in occupational health and safety, engineering, environmental sciences, or a related field; equivalent experience may substitute for a degree.
• Experience managing Title V air permits and stormwater or wastewater permit compliance in a manufacturing facility.
• Comprehensive knowledge of safety and health programs, risk identification and controls, and federal and state regulations.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, problem-solving, confidentiality, and independent-working skills.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, holidays, weekends, extended hours, and safety-related emergencies with minimal notice.

Nice to have

• ASP, CSP, CHMM, PE, Registered Environmental Manager, or Registered Environmental Professional certification.
• OSHA outreach trainer or Powered Industrial Truck trainer experience.
