Director of Engineering (Electric Distribution)

Location: AEP Ohio Office in Gahanna, Ohio, United States; onsite work is required.

Salary: $160,434.00–$208,565.50 per year, plus annual bonus and long-term incentive.

What you will do

• Lead engineering, project management, right-of-way, reliability, and technical functions supporting major electric distribution capital programs.
• Manage and coach engineering, project management, right-of-way, contract, and operating-company employees.
• Develop distribution business strategies, work plans, budgets, design standards, policies, and procedures.
• Manage engineering contractors and ensure deliverables meet design standards and contract requirements.
• Serve as the lead engineering and technical expert in regulatory proceedings and external presentations.
• Manage engineering IT systems and identify technical solutions that improve electric distribution operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in power engineering or a technical field.
• 3+ years of experience managing or leading engineering teams.
• Experience with engineering operations, design standards, contractors, and electric distribution systems.
