Principal Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Bellevue, Washington, United States; office-based role

Salary: $132,000–$264,000 annual salary for Bellevue, Washington. Performance-based bonuses and additional compensation may apply.

What you will do

• Develop, test, and deploy advanced data science solutions using Python and related tools.
• Design and implement scalable optimization algorithms and machine learning models.
• Analyze complex business problems, identify root causes, and recommend data-driven approaches.
• Validate data sources, assess data quality, and evaluate model performance using rigorous techniques.
• Translate stakeholder requirements into actionable data strategies and production solutions.
• Mentor team members on analytical methods, modeling techniques, and best practices.

Requirements

• Extensive experience developing and deploying machine learning models with Python.
• Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, deep learning, optimization, and model lifecycle management.
• Experience with data sourcing, data quality assessment, and data ecosystem management.
• At least 5 years of analytics-related experience with a bachelor’s degree, 3 years with a master’s degree, or 7 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS SageMaker or GCP.
• Leadership experience mentoring teams and collaborating across functions.

Nice to have

• PhD in machine learning, computer science, information technology, operations research, statistics, applied mathematics, or econometrics.
• Experience with Spark, Scala, R, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or Torch.
• Publications or active peer-review experience in relevant journals or conferences.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility practices.
