Project Manager to Project Manager Principal (Construction Utility Projects)

Location: Shreveport, Louisiana, United States; on-site. Work may take place at offices, homes, power plants, nuclear facilities, and construction sites. Travel is typically 25% or less, with additional travel possible for specific assignments.

Salary: $87,633.00–$151,132.50 per year, depending on level and qualifications.

What you will do

• Plan, organize, coordinate, execute, monitor, control, and close construction and utility projects.
• Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, procurement strategies, and project controls.
• Lead project meetings, provide status reporting, and communicate with internal customers, external customers, contractors, vendors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Manage or support contracts, including requests for proposals, bid evaluation, vendor selection, negotiations, performance oversight, and quality control.
• Promote safety, continuous improvement, risk management, cost control, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Progressively assume lead project manager responsibilities and coach team members on project management practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, Computer Science, or a related discipline with 3–7 years of qualified experience, depending on level.
• Equivalent pathways include an associate degree with 5–9 years of experience or a high school diploma/GED with 7–11 years of experience.
• Experience may include project management, major construction, project estimating, project controls, project engineering, outage management, business administration, or comparable production-environment work.
• Knowledge of construction safety, scope and cost control, estimating, contracting, negotiations, quality control, risk management, scheduling, and reporting is required progressively by level.
• Valid state driver’s license required; ability to perform light physical duties, walk construction sites, climb ladders, and work around hazardous conditions is required.
• Work may involve nuclear power sites and potential radiation exposure within limits prescribed by the NRC.

Nice to have

• Utilities, commercial nuclear power, or IT systems experience.
• PMP certification.
• Previous experience progressing from Project Manager Associate to Project Manager Senior or Principal.
