Project Manager (Utilities)

Location: Gahanna, Ohio, United States; work may take place at offices, power plants, nuclear facilities, construction sites, and other AEP locations. Travel is typically 25% or less, with additional travel possible for specific assignments.

Salary: $87,633.00–$151,132.50 annually.

What you will do

• Plan, coordinate, execute, monitor, control, and close intermediate to complex projects and outage work.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, staffing, costs, risks, and performance reporting.
• Lead project meetings, stakeholder presentations, status communications, and customer coordination.
• Manage procurement plans and outside-service contracts, including requests for proposals, bid evaluation, negotiations, and vendor performance.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, operating company staff, customers, contractors, suppliers, vendors, and regulators.
• Lead or support project teams, mentor project managers, promote continuous improvement, and enforce safety standards focused on Zero Harm.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, project management, computer science, or a related field with 3–7 years of qualified experience depending on level; equivalent associate degree or high school pathways require additional experience.
• Experience in project management, construction, project estimating, project controls, project engineering, outage management, business administration, or a comparable production environment.
• Knowledge of construction safety, scope and cost control, contracting, negotiations, quality control, risk management, and project reporting.
• Experience with utilities, commercial nuclear power, or IT systems is favorable.
• Valid state driver’s license required. PMP certification is preferred but not required.
• Work may involve construction-site walkdowns, unstable surfaces, ladders, hazardous areas, and possible radiation exposure at nuclear facilities within NRC limits.
