Production Planner (Manufacturing)

Location: On-site five days per week in Columbia, South Carolina, United States

Annual base salary: $66,816.66–$93,309.99

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and optimize production plans and schedules aligned with the Master Production Schedule and plant priorities.
• Manage demand forecasts and balance supply, capacity, inventory, and customer service requirements.
• Translate demand changes, material constraints, capacity limitations, and operational risks into actionable production plans.
• Maintain planning data including item attributes, routings, lead times, safety stocks, and other ERP/MRP parameters.
• Coordinate with purchasing and manufacturing teams to ensure material readiness, schedule adherence, and on-time delivery.
• Track planning and production metrics including forecast accuracy, schedule attainment, productivity, backlog, and on-time shipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; a degree in business, supply chain, operations, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with production planning, forecasting, inventory management, MRP, and lean manufacturing.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Working knowledge of product configurations, options, substitutions, and critical components.

Nice to have

• APICS CPIM certification.
• Experience with visual management systems.
• BS/BA degree in business, supply chain, operations, or a related field.
