Director of People (AI)

Location: San Francisco office, onsite five days a week

Salary: $250,000–$400,000, plus equity and competitive benefits

What you will do

• Own and execute the People strategy across hiring, talent, compensation, employee experience, and organizational development.
• Design compensation, leveling, and equity programs that support attraction, retention, internal consistency, and company goals.
• Build scalable People systems, processes, and infrastructure across the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding through offboarding.
• Lead benefits administration, vendor management, employee support, and People-related compliance and risk management.
• Serve as a trusted People partner for employees and managers, handling sensitive employee relations matters with discretion and sound judgment.
• Oversee visa and immigration processes and shape a high-performance, mission-driven culture as the organization scales.

Requirements

• Experience owning People strategy and operations across hiring, talent, compensation, employee experience, and organizational development.
• Ability to build People systems, processes, and infrastructure from scratch in a rapidly scaling organization.
• Strong judgment, discretion, empathy, urgency, and risk awareness when handling sensitive employee relations situations.
• Ability to work onsite in the San Francisco office five days per week.
