Manager, Process Engineering (Electron Microscopy)

Location: Santa Clara, CA; onsite laboratory role with a primary evening shift schedule and approximately 10% travel. Relocation is not eligible.

Salary: $147,000.00–$202,500.00 per year.

What you will do

• Directly supervise professional and technical staff, set priorities, remove roadblocks, and keep commitments on schedule.
• Provide technical and operational guidance, including hands-on support for resolving problems and maintaining schedules.
• Track and analyze the performance of direct reports and laboratory equipment to drive decisions and improvements.
• Sustain and improve laboratory workflows, processes, protocols, and policies.
• Recruit, interview, hire, and manage skilled employees while applying company policies consistently.
• Present technical project, schedule, and results information to stakeholders and coordinate cooperation across teams.

Requirements

• 2+ years of managerial experience and 5+ years of relevant technical experience, including at least 1–2 years leading, mentoring, or coordinating others.
• Recent people-management or team-lead experience in a laboratory, fab, or manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical background in Electron Microscopy, including SEM/TEM, or broad working knowledge of metrology techniques and failure analysis.
• Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, judgment, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyze situations and data, weigh relevant factors, recommend action, and present technical material to upper management.
• Experience managing laboratory equipment uptime, calibration, or maintenance programs.
• Familiarity with semiconductor processes and a data-driven approach to performance tracking.
• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Ability and willingness to work the primary evening shift and support business needs during evening hours.
