Electrical Designer

Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada; work from the Vancouver office with travel to project sites, including remote site locations

Salary: CAD 62,000–65,000 annually, plus potential performance-based incentives and benefits.

What you will do

• Prepare and maintain electrical engineering deliverables, contract drawings, records, and technical documentation.
• Design 2D deliverables including single-line diagrams, loop drawings, interconnection diagrams, instrument layouts, and schematics.
• Develop and check 3D models using MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Perform electrical calculations covering voltage drop, grounding, lighting, and related systems.
• Prepare engineering lists, MCC control panel arrangements, P&IDs, procurement documentation, and vendor package interfaces.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary designers and engineers, support design and quality reviews, and participate in site inspections and walkdowns.

Requirements

• Working toward graduation in 2027 or recently graduated with an Electrical Engineering Technician or Technologist diploma in Electrical or Instrumentation.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation in 2D and 3D.
• Knowledge of electrical system design for industrial facilities.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Good knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and ISA standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and collaboration skills, with willingness to travel to project sites.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower for power system modeling and design.
• PLC or DCS programming experience.
• Familiarity with CSA, NEC, and IEC codes and standards.
