Electrical and Instrumentation Designer (AutoCAD/MicroStation)

Location: Mississauga, Canada; work from the Mississauga office with travel to office, construction, and remote project sites

Salary: CAD 62,000–65,000 per year, plus potential performance incentives and benefits

What you will do

• Coordinate design work and prepare contract drawings, records, and engineering deliverables.
• Develop electrical and instrumentation designs, including single-line diagrams, loop drawings, interconnection diagrams, schematics, instrument layouts, and P&IDs.
• Develop and check 2D and 3D models using AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Prepare electrical calculations, engineering lists, material take-offs, cable and raceway schedules, and MCC and control-panel arrangements.
• Support vendor package interfaces, design reviews, quality reviews, site inspections, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Contribute to procurement packages, power-system modeling, and PLC or DCS programming as career opportunities develop.

Requirements

• Must be based at or work from the Mississauga office and be willing to travel to project sites, including remote sites.
• Working toward graduation in 2027 or recently graduated with an Electrical Engineering Technician or Technologist diploma in Electrical or Instrumentation.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation in 2D and 3D.
• Knowledge of electrical system design for industrial facilities and the Canadian Electrical Code and ISA standards.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and independent-working skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower for power-system modeling.
• Experience with PLC or DCS programming.
• Interest in pursuing a professional designation.
