Software Engineer, Systems (Partner 16, Partner 18)

Location: San Francisco, California, United States; in-office presence required 2–3 days per week

Salary: $269,000–$314,000 for Software Engineer (Partner 16); $301,000–$352,000 for Senior Software Engineer (Partner 18)

What you will do

• Build, improve, and support the internal developer platform and associated applications.
• Develop shared tooling, templates, and internal libraries that accelerate product development.
• Support observability, monitoring, and alerting for production services.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity to align developer workflows with security and compliance requirements.
• Create and maintain developer documentation, onboarding guides, and operational runbooks.
• Own assigned projects and services from development through production support while incorporating user feedback.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python, Rust, or similar backend languages.
• Experience defining and shipping developer platforms or internal tooling that improved engineering velocity.
• Experience deploying services on GCP, AWS, or Azure and working with Docker-based services.
• Exposure to CI/CD systems and production SQL databases.
• Strong problem-solving, technical fundamentals, code quality, operational excellence, and collaborative communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes, NoSQL databases such as Elasticsearch, or infrastructure as code using Terraform or Pulumi.
