Location: East Syracuse, NY; Ashburn, VA; Auburn Hills, MI; Bristol, RI; Cranston, RI; Grayling, MI; Orlando, FL; Quincy, MA; or Washington, DC, United States. Domestic and possible international travel of 5–10% annually.
Salary: $64,600–$80,700 for East Syracuse, Auburn Hills, Grayling, Orlando, and West Lafayette; $71,000–$88,800 for Bristol and Cranston; $77,400–$96,800 for Ashburn, Quincy, and Washington, DC.

What you will do
- Build, improve, and operate the U.S. import control framework, including entry review, exception handling, and CBP inquiries.
- Coordinate with site shipping teams, programs, brokers, forwarders, and international affiliates to authorize and document cross-border movements.
- Write and operationalize procedures for customs clearance, Temporary Import Bonds, carnets, DSP-61 temporary import licenses, permanent imports, Duty-Free Entry, broker engagement, and recordkeeping.
- Review entry packets and resolve classification, valuation, origin, and documentation issues before broker filing.
- Maintain HTS classifications, coordinate ECCN and USML questions, administer DFE documentation, and support ACE statements, customs bonds, and powers of attorney.
- Create durable import records and repeatable processes in SharePoint, OCR EASE, or equivalent systems, and assess sites against import requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in international business, supply chain, or a related field with 3+ years of U.S. import/customs operations or import compliance experience; alternatively, a master’s degree with 1+ year of experience or equivalent experience.
- Working knowledge of CBP entry processes, HTS classification, broker filing, and import documentation.
- Export control literacy sufficient to identify and escalate DSP-61, TIB, Carnet, and ITAR issues.
- Experience writing or improving procedures, playbooks, SharePoint sites, or trackers used by others.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and willingness to work with ACE, GTM tools, and internal systems.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or protected individual. Access to export-controlled technical data and a DoD security clearance may be required.
Nice to have
- Defense industry experience and an existing security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
- Experience working with foreign entities and culturally diverse stakeholders.
- Interest in pursuing the Customs Broker License exam with company support.
