TL;DR
Senior Technical Program Manager - Tooling Fabrication (Aerospace): Coordinating the planning, fabrication, assembly, and testing of large tooling, prototypes, landing platforms, and launch infrastructure with an accent on welding, machining, material flow, and manufacturing schedules. Focus on resolving fabrication constraints, managing simultaneous builds, coordinating cross-functional suppliers and production teams, and maintaining schedule velocity through MRP execution.

Location: Space Coast, Florida, United States; onsite, first shift Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

What you will do

  • Analyze complex drawings and define build plans, fabrication challenges, and manufacturability across welding, machining, and assembly.
  • Coordinate manufacturing schedules, material availability, shop-order execution, work orders, internal tickets, and the controlled flow of parts and services.
  • Monitor multiple simultaneous builds and provide status updates on work in progress, constraints, material availability, and schedule risks.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, inspection, quality, operations, purchasing, engineering, logistics, suppliers, and production labor.
  • Serve as the primary customer contact for status updates, escalations, and last-minute changes.
  • Expedite material shortages, remove production roadblocks, and improve job flow through the manufacturing line.

Requirements

  • 20+ years of experience in maintenance, mechanics, machining, welding, waterjet, technical assembly, and/or project management.
  • Experience with planning or scheduling, cross-functional teams, and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems.
  • Associate’s degree in engineering, science, or business, or completion of trade school or a technical certificate in welding, machining, or structural assembly.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, decision-making, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office; MES experience with MRP execution is desirable.
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, U.S. permanent residents, refugees, or asylees lawfully admitted to the United States.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of LEAN, Six Sigma, DFSS, value-stream mapping, and Kaizen.
  • Experience with Coupa, Costpoint, ERP systems, or similar provisioning and planning tools.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, overtime, weekends, and occasional travel.
  • Strong mathematics, analytical, interpersonal, and Microsoft Office Suite skills.
