Software Engineer III (Java)

Salary: $117,000–$234,000 annual salary for Sunnyvale, California. Additional performance-based compensation may apply.

What you will do

• Write clean, efficient, maintainable code for personalized member-engagement solutions.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from analyzing requirements to planning and implementing development tasks.
• Build and maintain Java microservices using Spring and Spring Boot.
• Write automated tests, debug defects, and maintain strong test coverage.
• Collaborate with quality assurance engineers and support smooth production deployments.
• Develop scalable, distributed, containerized applications in cloud environments.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software development experience, or a bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus 2 years of software engineering experience, or 4 years of software engineering experience.
• Professional experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Experience with message brokers such as Kafka, EventHub, Service Bus, or Pub/Sub.
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as Cassandra or Cosmos and SQL databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, exception handling, documentation, CI/CD, and agile methodologies.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.
