Software Developer (Java)

Salary: $130,000–$150,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, implement, and support distributed software solutions for securities settlement processing.
• Build and maintain applications for high-volume transaction processing, operational workflows, risk controls, and enterprise integrations.
• Translate business and technical requirements into maintainable services, integrations, automated tests, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, architects, quality engineers, operations, and production support teams in an Agile delivery environment.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and application modernization.
• Monitor production applications, perform root cause analysis, respond to incidents, and improve reliability, observability, security, and performance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, including hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, RESTful services, microservices, and distributed architectures.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with secure, scalable, resilient, high-performing transaction-processing systems, object-oriented design, design patterns, event-driven architectures, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases, SQL, data modeling, persistence frameworks, messaging technologies such as Kafka or IBM MQ, and application integrations.
• Experience with unit, integration, functional, and end-to-end testing, source control, CI/CD, build automation, DevSecOps, and Agile software delivery.
• Experience supporting production applications in Linux or Unix environments with observability and monitoring tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with settlement processing, securities processing, custody operations, reconciliations, post-trade workflows, or broker-dealer platforms.
• Experience with Spring Batch, Control-M, legacy mainframe technologies, ISO financial messaging standards, cloud platforms, or authentication frameworks such as OAuth 2.0, SAML, and JWT.
• Experience working in regulated financial services environments.
