Java Developer III (Senior) (Fintech)

Location: Columbus, OH; office workplace type. Applicants must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States. Immigration sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support Java-based applications and microservices.
• Build and maintain REST APIs, file-processing solutions, and payment processing services.
• Participate in solution design, code reviews, testing, Agile delivery, and continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot production issues involving integrations, databases, middleware, and cloud platforms.
• Support highly available systems and participate in on-call rotations.
• Collaborate with business analysts, testers, architects, and stakeholders while maintaining technical documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–7+ years of hands-on experience with Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, REST APIs, JSON, and microservices.
• At least 1 year of experience with GCP or comparable cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
• At least 1 year of experience with NoSQL databases and cloud-native, scalable distributed systems.
• Experience with incoming and outgoing file processing, troubleshooting, communication, and SDLC practices.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and support production systems.

Nice to have

• 7+ years of experience deploying Spring Boot microservices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Bigtable, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Maven, Jenkins, SOAP/XML, SQL, and monitoring tools.
• Experience delivering software with Agile methodologies.
• Experience in fintech, banking, or financial services, including ACH, wire transfers, payment engines, settlements, reconciliation, or transaction processing.
