Java Application Developer

Location: Ashburn, Virginia, United States; hybrid with 1–2 days per week onsite. US citizenship and the ability to obtain the CBP Public Trust Final clearance are required.

Salary: $90,000–$130,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain primarily Java-based applications.
• Collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and intersecting teams to deliver solutions aligned with client mission needs.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, update Jira tasks, and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot production and non-production systems.
• Learn and apply new technical skills based on project and customer needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of professional experience supporting Java applications.
• Experience with Spring and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment with Jira or a similar tool.
• Experience developing against relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
• Experience writing automated unit tests using JUnit or a similar tool.
• US citizenship and the ability to obtain the required government security clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with CI/CD tools including Git, Bamboo, Jenkins, or SonarQube.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Angular, Hibernate, or MyBatis.
• Experience with JMS, Python, Kafka, or Linux.
