Director, Major Projects | NEW GENERATION (Construction Utility Projects)

Location: Lawton, Oklahoma, United States; on-site at the project location during project execution

Salary: $188,524–$245,080 per year, plus incentive compensation and benefits

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end execution of major generation construction projects with capital budgets ranging from $1 billion to $10 billion.
• Direct safety, schedule, cost, quality, commercial performance, change management, risk mitigation, and project delivery.
• Establish contracting strategies and negotiate EPC, contractor, engineering, service, and joint venture agreements.
• Coordinate project teams, functional leaders, contractors, suppliers, utilities, regulators, landowners, RTOs, and other stakeholders.
• Oversee regulatory filings, permitting, environmental requirements, utility commission approvals, and compliance with NERC, FERC, RTO, and applicable regulations.
• Manage staffing, construction execution, budget forecasts, project reporting, and executive communication through project closeout.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, project management, accounting, finance, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in major construction, project management, project controls, generation, commissioning, portfolio management, or contract negotiations.
• PMP certification and a valid state driver’s license.
• Demonstrated leadership, strategic planning, risk assessment, conflict management, delegation, decision-making, and executive communication skills.
• Ability to work at offices, power plants, and construction sites, perform site walkdowns and light physical duties, and work in varying or hazardous conditions when required.
• Must be on location at the project being overseen throughout project execution.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in business, engineering, project management, accounting, finance, or construction management.
• Experience with utility generation, heavy industrial construction, new-generation EPC models, generation interconnection agreements, and environmental permitting.
• Experience coordinating with PJM, MISO, SPP, ERCOT, state utility commissions, federal agencies, USACE, USFWS, and NEPA processes.
• Previous experience as a senior project manager or project director within a utility or major-project organization.
